4.7 from 80 reviews

Delicious and easy-to-make Oreo Balls combine crushed Oreo cookies with creamy cream cheese, dipped in smooth chocolate for a perfect bite-sized treat that’s ideal for parties, holidays, or anytime you need a sweet indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Mixture

  • 36 regular Oreo cookies
  • 1 (8-ounce) package brick-style cream cheese, softened (226 grams)

Chocolate Coating

  • 16 ounces chocolate (semi-sweet, milk, or white chocolate all work great) (452 grams)

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until finely crushed, or place them in a sealed plastic bag and crush thoroughly using a rolling pin until they are finely ground.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly by hand or with a spoon until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
  3. Form Balls: Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, roll the mixture into 1-inch diameter balls. Place the formed balls onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper or parchment paper.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 1 hour, allowing them to firm up and hold their shape during dipping.
  5. Melt Chocolate: While the balls chill, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, melt chocolate in a double boiler over simmering water.
  6. Dip Oreo Balls: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is completely coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
  7. Set the Coating: Return the dipped balls to the lined baking sheet. Optionally, decorate with sprinkles or drizzle additional chocolate before the coating sets.
  8. Chill Again: Refrigerate the dipped balls until the chocolate hardens, about 30 minutes.
  9. Serve and Store: Serve chilled or at room temperature. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Notes

  • For variation, use different chocolate types such as white or milk chocolate for dipping.
  • You can add toppings like crushed nuts or sprinkles before the chocolate sets for extra texture and decoration.
  • If cream cheese is too soft, refrigerate slightly to make rolling easier.
  • Make sure not to over-mix the Oreo and cream cheese mixture, or balls may become too soft.
