A delicious and easy-to-make Bow Tie Pasta Lasagna that layers tender bow tie pasta with creamy ricotta, savory ground beef, rich pasta sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese for a comforting Italian-inspired meal perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 1 pound bow tie pasta

Cheese Mixture

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Meat and Sauce

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 24 ounces pasta sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Meat Sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat. Add the pasta sauce to the skillet with the beef and simmer for 5 minutes to blend flavors.
  3. Make the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese and milk until smooth and creamy. This will add a rich texture to the lasagna layers.
  4. Assemble the Lasagna: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a greased baking dish, layer half of the cooked bow tie pasta, then spread half of the cream cheese mixture, followed by half of the meat sauce. Repeat the layers with the remaining pasta, cream cheese mixture, and meat sauce. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese evenly.
  5. Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Serve: Let the lasagna rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, garnished with fresh basil or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or Italian sausage for variation.
  • For a creamier texture, add a little grated Parmesan to the cheese mixture.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
  • Adding vegetables like spinach or mushrooms can increase the nutritional value and flavor.
