Ice Cream
- 1.5 quarts ice cream, preferably 2 or 3 different flavors
Base
- 12 to 15 large waffle cones (sugar cones or crisp waffle cookies can also be used)
Toppings
- Chocolate sauce
- Caramel sauce
- Whipped cream
- Sprinkles
- Chopped nuts (optional)
- Maraschino cherries (optional)
- Prepare the cones: Break the large waffle cones into chip-sized pieces, creating the base for the nachos. Spread the pieces evenly on a large serving plate or tray.
- Scoop the ice cream: Using multiple flavors, scoop generous amounts of ice cream between and on top of the waffle cone pieces, layering to create a tempting mound resembling nachos.
- Add toppings: Drizzle chocolate sauce and caramel sauce over the ice cream and cones. Add whipped cream by either dolloping or piping it over the top.
- Decorate: Sprinkle colorful sprinkles, chopped nuts, or any other desired toppings evenly over the dessert. Place maraschino cherries on top for an extra touch.
- Serve immediately: Serve the ice cream nachos right away to enjoy the contrasting textures of crunchy cones and creamy ice cream before the ice cream melts.
Notes
- Use sturdy waffle cones or cookies to ensure they hold up under the ice cream’s weight.
- Customize toppings based on preference—fresh fruits like strawberries or bananas work well.
- Prepare and serve immediately to prevent ice cream from melting and cones becoming soggy.
- For a party, prepare multiple trays with different ice cream and topping combinations.
- Store leftovers (if any) in a covered container in the freezer, but best enjoyed fresh.
