4.4 from 133 reviews

This refreshing Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha is a Starbucks copycat drink that perfectly blends rich mocha, aromatic matcha, and creamy pistachio flavors topped with a chocolate-infused cold foam. It’s a delightful iced treat that balances the earthiness of matcha with the indulgence of chocolate and pistachio, finished with an optional crunchy Kataifi topping for added texture.

Ingredients

Scale

Cold Foam

  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp whole milk
  • 1 tbsp mocha sauce (or chocolate syrup)

Matcha Mixture

  • 1 ½ tsp pure matcha powder (sifted)
  • 3 tbsp hot water

Main Drink

  • 1 cup milk of choice (2% milk recommended)
  • 2 tbsp pistachio sauce
  • Ice (as needed)

Topping (Optional)

  • Toasted Kataifi

Instructions

  1. Make the cold foam: In a small glass or mason jar, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and mocha sauce (or chocolate syrup). Using a milk frother, froth the mixture for 20-30 seconds until it becomes light and foamy. Set aside to use as a topping later.
  2. Prepare the matcha mixture: Sift the matcha powder through a fine mesh strainer to remove any clumps for a smooth texture. Whisk the sifted matcha with the hot water until the mixture is smooth and fully combined. Set aside.
  3. Assemble the drink: Fill a tall glass with ice. In a separate container, stir together the milk of choice and pistachio sauce until well blended and smooth with no clumps. Pour this mixture over the ice in your glass.
  4. Combine matcha and milk: Add the prepared matcha mixture to the glass with milk and ice. Stir thoroughly until everything is well combined and evenly mixed.
  5. Finish and serve: Spoon the chocolate cold foam over the top of the drink. If desired, sprinkle toasted Kataifi on top for a crunchy, nutty finish. Serve immediately and enjoy your luxurious Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha.

Notes

  • Use freshly sifted matcha powder to avoid lumps and ensure a smooth drink.
  • You can substitute mocha sauce with chocolate syrup or chocolate sauce as preferred.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of mocha or pistachio sauce to suit your taste.
  • For a vegan version, substitute heavy cream and whole milk with plant-based alternatives like coconut cream and almond milk.
  • To toast Kataifi, spread it thinly on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes or until golden and crisp.
