Celebrate summertime with this Peach Moscow Mule, a refreshing twist on the classic cocktail. Featuring fresh peach puree, ginger beer, vodka, lime juice, and a homemade cinnamon-infused simple syrup, this drink tastes like a slice of peach pie on a hot day. It’s perfectly balanced with sweet, tart, and spicy flavors, and can be made in single servings or batches for entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale

Cinnamon-Infused Simple Syrup

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 stick cinnamon

Peach Moscow Mule

  • 2 oz. peach puree (from about ½ fresh peach)
  • 3 oz. ginger beer
  • 1 ½ oz. vodka
  • ½ oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
  • ½ oz. cinnamon simple syrup (from above)
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  1. Make the Cinnamon-Infused Simple Syrup: In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine ½ cup granulated sugar and ½ cup water. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat. Add 1 cinnamon stick, cover, and let steep for 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on desired cinnamon intensity. Strain the syrup to remove the cinnamon stick and transfer it to a mason jar. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. Prepare the Peach Puree: Using a blender, puree about ½ of a fresh peach until smooth. If fresh peaches are unavailable, you may use peach nectar or thawed frozen peaches for the puree.
  3. Mix the Peach Moscow Mule: In a copper mug or your preferred glass, measure and combine 2 oz. peach puree, 3 oz. ginger beer, 1 ½ oz. vodka, ½ oz. freshly squeezed lime juice, and ½ oz. cinnamon simple syrup. Stir gently with a spoon to combine all ingredients evenly.
  4. Serve: Top the cocktail with ice cubes or frozen peach slices to keep it chilled without dilution. Garnish with a fresh peach slice or herbs like mint or basil if desired. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • The cinnamon-infused simple syrup recipe yields enough for about 8 Peach Moscow Mules.
  • You can substitute peach nectar or thawed frozen peaches for fresh peach puree if fresh peaches are unavailable. Canned peaches without syrup can also work.
  • The cinnamon simple syrup and peach puree can be prepared in advance and refrigerated until serving for easier entertaining.
  • To make a pitcher for a crowd, multiply the ingredients accordingly. Using frozen peach slices instead of ice cubes keeps drinks cold without dilution.
