  2. Assemble the sandwiches: Spread the prepared butter mixture evenly on one side of each bread slice. Then, flip the slices so the buttered side faces outward. On the unbuttered side of 4 slices, spread a generous layer of pizza sauce.
  3. Add the fillings: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce layer. Next, top the cheese with 6 slices of pepperoni on each sandwich. Place the remaining 4 slices of bread on top, buttered side facing out, to form sandwiches.
  4. Grill the sandwiches: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Carefully place the sandwiches onto the skillet. Grill for about 3-4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the bread turns golden brown and the cheese is completely melted.
