Delicious and easy-to-make Pizza Rolls using flaky crescent roll dough stuffed with melted mozzarella cheese, savory pepperoni, and rich pizza sauce. Perfect as a snack or party appetizer, these pizza rolls combine classic flavors in a convenient handheld treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 1 package (8 oz) crescent roll dough

Filling

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 20 slices pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce (for filling)

Serving

  • Additional pizza sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the pizza rolls.
  2. Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles as per the package instructions.
  3. Add Filling: Spoon about a teaspoon of pizza sauce onto the wide end of each dough triangle, then add a few slices of pepperoni and a generous sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  4. Roll Up: Starting from the wide end, carefully roll each triangle up toward the pointed end, sealing the edges gently to keep the filling inside but not too tightly to avoid bursting.
  5. Bake: Place the rolled pizza triangles seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with additional pizza sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • You can add other fillings such as cooked sausage, diced bell peppers, or mushrooms for variety.
  • For a crispier crust, brush the tops of the rolls with a little olive oil or melted butter before baking.
  • Make sure not to overfill the rolls to prevent leaking during baking.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven for best texture.
