A decadent and easy-to-make Strawberry Brownie Trifle combining rich chocolate brownies, creamy chocolate pudding, fluffy whipped topping, and fresh strawberries layered for a perfect dessert that’s ideal for gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Layer

  • 2 boxes brownie mix
  • Ingredients required on the brownie mix box (usually eggs, oil, and water)

Pudding Layer

  • 2 boxes instant chocolate pudding (3.94 ounce boxes)
  • 2 cups cold milk

Whipped Topping

  • 16 ounces Cool Whip

Fruit

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brownies: Follow the instructions on the brownie mix boxes to prepare the batter. Bake the brownies as directed, usually at 350°F for 25-30 minutes. Allow brownies to cool completely, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Make the Pudding: In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
  3. Assemble the Trifle: In a large trifle bowl or glass dish, start by layering half of the brownie cubes at the bottom. Next, spread half of the chocolate pudding over the brownies. Then add half of the sliced strawberries evenly, followed by half of the Cool Whip. Repeat the layers once more: brownies, pudding, strawberries, and top with the remaining Cool Whip.
  4. Chill the Trifle: Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
  5. Serve: Scoop into individual bowls or glasses, making sure to get layers of brownie, pudding, strawberries, and whipped topping with every serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor and sweetness.
  • You can substitute Cool Whip with homemade whipped cream for a fresher taste.
  • Brownies can be made from scratch or store-bought for convenience.
  • This dessert is best served within 2-3 days when stored covered in the refrigerator.
  • For added texture, consider adding crushed nuts or chocolate chips between layers.
